Today I spent some time thinking about indulgence gifts.  These are gifts that are great for helping to create feelings, which uplift and soothe our stressful lives.  When I think back to my childhood days, it amazes me how startling different life is now. 

One particular change in lifestyle that came to mind was TV viewing.  When growing up, TV viewing was limited to three channels.  Which we were fortunate enough to receive via a huge antenna mounted on the roof of the house.  My brothers would sometimes climb upon the roof and move the antenna to help make the TV reception clearer. 

Digital television is now a major feature in most homes via cable or satellite.  From a handful of channels we now have a whopping number available with the click of a remote.  Many times, despite the endless variety of channels available, we still claim we cannot find anything to watch. 

Our fast pace lifestyle promoting stress probably plays a part in the restlessness and unsatisfied feelings that sometimes frequent our lives.  Remote control flipping is a common pattern pursued by some people.  When our lives are stressed it is sometimes hard to find contentment in the daily surroundings of life. 

Indulgence gifts are great to give someone who needs a special uplift or a soothing touch in their life.  These gifts can pamper our sense of smell, taste, touch, sight or sound helping to create harmony in our lives.

Today was filled with excitement because my sister's vacation leave started.  We have plans to spend time together next week.  Whenever my sister and I are together, we always have a great time. 

Found myself going down memory lane today.  I recalled a special vacation my sister and I took one year to Williamsburg, Virginia.  We both have a love for historical settings and antiques.  This was the perfect trip for us.  Since my sister had never been to Washington, D.C., we took a guided tour trip into D.C.  Every time we think about that vacation we are flooded with cherished memories.

Great Finds For You With You In Mind! 

 

It has been awhile since I have blogged.  This largely has been due to business projects and a severe health issue my mom experienced.  After frequent doctor visits and various tests, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer.  A couple of months ago she underwent a hysterectomy.  After the surgery the surgeon expressed concern there were some indications that the cancer may have spread outside the uterus.  The picture he presented was one that did not promise much hope.  

Needless to say the next few days spent waiting on the pathology report were long and stressful.  When the pathology report came back the Lord blessed us with WONDERFUL news!  The cancer was contained to the uterus and Mom did not need any post treatment. 

Thought I would share my story as a way of offering encouragement to those who may find themselves in a smiliar situation.  Be encouraged knowing there is always hope, even when things may appear hopeless.

A couple of days ago I added two new webpages to the site.  The animal lover jewelry webpage contains dog lover jewelry and horse lover jewelry selections.  If you have someone on your gift list that loves animals, especially dogs or horses, then be sure to browse this page.  The other webpage has a great selection of cat lover jewelry.  This page will be particularly appealing to cat owners.  People who are cat owners seem to have a fond love for jewelry inspired by their much loved furry friend.
