During conversation with a good friend the other day, the subject of cat jewelry came up.  My friend and I are both animal lovers.  She has two beautiful and delightful cats.  As some of you know, I have two dogs that bring me pure joy.

Are you ready for Christmas?  I know I'm not ready and no doubt many of you can say the same.  When looking at the calendar this morning I realized it was the 10th, which means only 15 more days until Christmas.  As with each Christmas season time seems to pass quickly.

On Saturday, my family is having a small Christmas party.  I am really looking forward to seeing everyone. Spending time with family and friends makes the Christmas season extra special.

Christmas shopping for many is a part of the Christmas holidays that is often dreaded.  For many shopping is even harder this year because of the poor economy.   

If you’re feeling down because your Christmas budget is limited and there will be only a few toys under the tree for your kids this Christmas season, or maybe not any, then plan a fun filled activity day for your kids on Christmas.  Here are just a few ideas:

Pull the board games out and have a game marathon.   If video games are popular in your home, then play them instead.  Be sure everyone participates.  Pop some popcorn and make a batch of cookies up and watch a couple of favorite movies together.  Children love craft projects.  Maybe have a family craft project and later on go visit a home bound loved one and let the kids give the crafts out. Great Finds For You With You In Mind

I've been away from blogging for a while because of family health issues.  My Dad passed away last month.  Miss him terribly and know the holidays will not be the same without him.

However my family and I are blessed with some wonderful memories of Dad.  We have videos of Dad at past Christmases and other special occasions, a slide-show presentation filled with wonderful precious memories of him and lots of photos.

I cannot begin to tell you how precious these videos; slide-show and photos of Dad are to us now.  Often when it comes to taking pictures or videos we are in such a rush or just tired and don't feel like messing with getting the camera out.

This Christmas I would like to encourage everyone to take the time to capture your holiday memories on video or with digital photos.  This is especially true for families that have young children.  Years later it will be such a blessing to you and your family as you enjoy sharing past treasured memories through videos and photos.
