I once heard someone make the comment that Valentine's Day was nothing to them…it was just like any other day.  For me Valentine's Day affords a wonderful opportunity to show family and friends how much we love them and what they mean to us. 

The classic gifts are:  gift of flowers, gift of sweets, gift of fragrance and the gift of jewelry.  These do indeed make wonderful gifts for almost anyone.  These are gifts that will be well loved and cherished.  Often times, recipients of these gifts fondly look forward to receiving them. 

Many times throughout the years our lives have a way of drifting off onto a rugged path.  When we become consumed in our work, family life becomes less of a priority and our faith suffers.  Valentine's Day can help us shift our focus back to that which is most important in our lives such as family, friend and faith.  This one-day is all about expressing our love to others. 

Whether we lavish our loved ones with a exquisite gift that will be sure to bring a warm smile and a sparkle to their eyes or pickup the phone and call them to let them how much they mean to us…it is a Day that will be remembered fondly in the coming weeks by those dear to our lives.
