Most of us are throughly enjoying the spring season.  The dazzling sunshine and luscious landscapes help to renew us.  Not only do we enjoy spring, but our pets reap the enjoyment of the season as well.  I have noticed my two furry friends are beginning to spend more time outdoors.  When Dad and I go to the front porch to enjoy the fresh air and landscape, both our dogs insist on joining us. 

Since our furry friends are now spending more time outdoors, thought I'd provide a few pet owners reminders. 

  *  Warm weather is wonderful, but with it comes the need to protect our furry friends from the pesky fleas and ticks.  I use Frontline for flea and tick prevention on my dogs.  Be sure to consult with your vet on the right product for your pet. 

  *  Annual exams and shots are very important to keep our pets healthy.  Check with your vet or pets records to determine due date for exams and shots. 

  *  Heartworms can be a serious and fatal problem for pets.  Be proactive and use heartworm prevention medicine to keep your pet healthy.  If you do not have your pet on heartworm prevention medicine, then schedule a visit with your vet.
